Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy supplements the Terms of Service. It explains when refunds are available, how to cancel, and how to dispute a charge.

1. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee (first-time monthly subscribers)

If you are a first-time individual monthly subscriber to a paid plan, you may request a full refund of the first monthly fee within fourteen (14) days of your initial charge, for any reason. The refund is not available for:

annual subscriptions (which are eligible for a pro-rata refund only — see §2);
renewal charges (see §3);
enterprise customers on a separate order form;
accounts that have exported more than 100 parcels, generated more than 25 AI memos, or sent more than 25 outreach drafts during the period (a reasonable usage threshold to prevent abuse).

To request: email mark@tryplotcipher.com with your account email and the date of the charge. Refunds are processed via Stripe within 5-10 business days and may take additional time to appear on your card statement.

2. Annual Subscriptions

Annual plans are sold at a discount and are non-refundable after the first fourteen (14) days. If you cancel within the first 14 days, we will refund the full amount paid minus a pro-rata charge equal to one (1) month at the equivalent monthly rate, less any redeemed promotional credit.

3. Renewals — Auto-Renewal Disclosures

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate. Renewal charges are generally non-refundable, except where required by law and except for the limited circumstances below.

For California subscribers (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §17600 et seq.):

You receive a renewal-reminder email no earlier than 15 days and no later than 45 days before each annual renewal date.
Cancellation can be completed entirely online via Settings → Billing → Manage billing → Cancel subscription, with no requirement to call us or speak with a representative.
If you signed up via mobile and were charged through an Apple or Google subscription, you must cancel through that respective app store.

If you believe a renewal was charged after a successful cancellation, contact mark@tryplotcipher.com within 30 days. We will investigate and, if confirmed, refund the renewal in full.

4. How to Cancel

Sign in to PlotCipher.
Open Settings → Billing.
Click “Manage billing” (opens Stripe Customer Portal).
Click “Cancel subscription.” You will receive a confirmation email.

Cancellation is effective at the end of your then-current billing period. You retain access through that date.

If you cannot access the in-app cancellation flow, email mark@tryplotcipher.com and we will process the cancellation manually within one business day.

5. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

Before initiating a chargeback through your card issuer, please contact us at mark@tryplotcipher.com. We can usually resolve billing issues within one business day, which is faster than the bank-mediated chargeback process.

Unfounded or fraudulent chargebacks may result in account suspension and reporting to the payment networks. Bona-fide billing disputes are always welcome and will be resolved in good faith.

6. Failed Renewal Payments

If a renewal payment fails, we will retry the charge a small number of times over a short window and notify you by email. If the payment is not resolved within seven (7) days, we may suspend access until payment is resolved or close the account.

7. Account Closure After Cancellation

After cancellation, you may request export of your data (saved deals, pipeline, rooms, notes, outreach log) for thirty (30) days. After that period, account data may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy retention rules.

8. Enterprise Refunds

Refund terms for enterprise customers are governed by the applicable Order Form or Master Services Agreement, which control over this Policy in the event of conflict.
